What Made You Play My Heart

What made you play my heart
To make you mine tonight
As I feel I was born
To hold the little I find
To reach only what is true
From what I know my dream is

What made you play my heart
Above me knows what is true
What made you long to touch me
Every time I longed to be touched by you

I can return to yesterday live again

What made you play my heart
To make you mine tonight
As I feel I was born
To hold the little I find
To reach only what is true
From what I know my dream is

I know my need, how I want
Who I am, how I feel right
How many times I must ask to be alive

How many places I have to look
This love as my very own
The life I was born to hold
The little I find to enjoy
How I open the sky
Just long enough to see the light
The eyes to glow for me

What made you play my heart
To make you mine tonight
As I feel I was born
To hold the little I find
To reach only what is true
From what I know my dream is

So Many Times I Thought Of You

So many times I thought of you
The meaning to you in my life
Everything one wish turned into
Tonight I continue to feel

Never did I once think twice
Always with trust in you
Your gift near at my prayer
Your gift near at my thought

So many times I thought of you
The meaning to you in my life
Everything one wish turned into
Tonight I continue to feel

Never has a day gone by
Without at least one tear in my eye
Sure I found special people
Special people but never enough

Always so sure of you
Always to hold on for you
Always to wait and watch
I still do

So many times I thought of you
The meaning to you in my life
Everything one wish turned into
Tonight I continue to feel

My Writing Days

My writing days
Of winter now
My lovely ways
Of summer once
My wait for you
Through autumn
My quiet truth
Of spring to call
My one heart
This all I have
My one love
My one life
Many turns
To notice why
I don't need
To see you
To know
Where you are
My writing days

To Know What It's Like To Hurt And Cry

To know what it's like to hurt and cry
The gifts of surroundings I fall amid
The friendships are there I made
The day, the music, my extra weight
No I am not happy only less afraid
For age, date and time, raisings a way
All basically seems the same
I carry who I have known as myself
I find dreams but not the one I own
I've been disbelieved when true and real
Months sent however over how I feel
My very most important please to god here
To stand where I began for awhile
To know what it's like to hurt and cry

One Good Want To Never Want Again

One good want to never want again
Give one good reason to listen to you
One good thought for my love to you
One good need I will find answer
One good want to never want again

Nice music, a beginning for thought, could be a nice thought more in need for my heart." 2-13-05

Touching Sounds

Touching sounds hurt the hardest
The deepest to leave
The worse to forget
The music to take the heart
The call of understanding
The cry for love
That need for real hope answered

Love In God

Love in god
The most innocent of all
Life in lord true of life

For every day to move along
For all I have learned
Born of mind, alienated from heart

Love in god
The greatest yet to hear
A walk down memory, future again

To understand, miss reason to feel
Look into who do I become
One simple meaning of touch

Love in god, shy and bright
Broken promises, hidden words

Love in god the best I know
Life in lord all I can say

Love in god

...

One Day Of Quiet

One day of quiet for the meaning to your lines
How you sent our past for a second look
From one life then another
Why do people think they know why
A note of time touches my mind
I couldn't take anymore sadness without a reason
Had to continue no care to where I was going
Set aside of loves want for me
I believe soon one day of quiet
For the meaning to you will again show through
Answers
One day of quiet for the meaning to your lines

...

Listening For Words Today

Listening for words today of my life with yours
Those times disappear so fast without choice
Watching for the minutes to pass in front of me
So I can piece together every change I went through
The next thought I found year after year why
I stayed away from any messages of truth
I am not one to bring up the past unless in a song
But those stairs to you return more than I want
Don't call to return me through for I must fall away
Just like we did before then I will walk behind
Oh not these memories again with music I can't understand
Listening for words today of my life with yours

...

For The Hell Of It

For the hell of it
Why must I tell anyone who taught me of life
If you don't read my writings then you lost my night
Sure I'm no body in the line of time
I step aside to hear your love never was right
On the swing of things some fall off
Other needs hang true I believe as you
Now I must finish this want you still don't see
I don't even know what's inside of me
For the hell of it

....

Let One Street Sing For Me

Let one street sing for me
Explain this night of feelings from old times gone by I thought
We were through with need to understand why by age and life
Why not call tomorrow yesterday for this is where I find myself
Am I to take the beating of loss for all of my love turns
What is a guitar once in a room I asked was I to touch
Then should I hold those same strings was I to play
Is the memory alive around me a talk for me before I speak
Let one street sing for me

....

Wonder Where I Am

Wonder where I am
I don't know what I missed tonight on this turn to bring sadness
A look through life changed in life to death if anything is real
I ask more than I find answers only why in front of me now
After so many years when all I had was a writing to share with no one
Are tributes planned ahead of the end, is anyone really watching in
Now I must get back to the direction I know lets quiet hold my hand
Your voice within every song helps me miss you, wonder where I am
Wonder where I am

....

The Drum Sticks Weren't Strong Enough

The drums sticks weren't strong enough
With time to feel lost away from you
I play Hollywood in the 80s, 90s
Just to see the love I held for you
Who heard my crys on the blvd shared
It's good to hear luck I had to stand beside
When I was down
Never thought there could be you again
Still I wouldn't believe the end was near
I continued to use my mind you were still here
Many girls would scream for my place
I wouldn't leave the love was handed as mine
I pushed hard on my want only a break to breathe
Made something of my world you may find life
Seems the fight wasn't real in you for my fight
Many guitars, piano tunes, friends didn't reach you
Every building block I tried wasn't yours
The drum sticks weren't strong enough

.....

To Hide Behind Tonight

To hide behind tonight
Get to the point of today
How this will never go away
You go round and round
Worse than I play with time
Go ahead walk through me
How many books do you need
I read a few
Where did those get me
One hour can destroy tomorrow
Why see the same game
All life is as a game get with it
You were young
Been in front of a gun
Better yet forget I love you
It's easier, so much easier
To hide behind tonight

....

What Else Do I Have

What else do I have
Here comes again the special places I lived
I take hold of often before choice begins
To know where my strength comes from within
Is the love for god real oh yea I hear
No I never took a hand because I was lonely
I don't care to move away from my temple
One time of home taught me how to break a string
Who do I stand beside when want comes over me
I won't watch who can't be true to my spirit
So let's play a game of chance
How often did I do anything I could to reach you
But my hope was broken by you stayed with me
Oh though let's just part because I can't win
I've tried what most would never touch to lose
Broke my piano keys, tossed my guitars to the sea
What else do I have

....

I Didn't Have To Turn To You

I didn't have to turn to you all of these years
For the soul I know from you we once shared
Long hard hours alone with only my words
Pulled out of my mind you might still care
Do you see anything in me we held close
But why do I continue to ask tonight
Another twenty writings to be heard
Then made it through with a hand today
Kind of fell for me to take
I said a hand not a body
Kind of fell for me to take
Sure I'm tough to talk to I learned from the best
Just because you can't remember your promises
Doesn't mean I let mine rest
I didn't have to turn to you all of these years

....

If I Can't Listen

If I can't listen
Understand I can't listen
I don't need a broken heart
I must remain strong
To get through how I feel
So I turn to yesterdays were real
I keep my sight on young again
Once hold on or leave
Some days, some nights
I don't have time for anything else
Try to be different I am
I can hardly follow anyone
I have to keep on, I have to keep on
If I can't listen

...

It's All About The Song

It's all about the song for me
Got nothing to do with dinner and a date
My life lives in fate
I may be happy over change others don't get
How can I be so cold within
I had to learn to take it all in
To get where I wanted to live
Continue on for my end
As memory comes back again
What happens then if I'm not there
Do you want your heart back and
I don't stop on every need
Keep you or leave
It's all about the song for me

...

How Many Homes Can You Run

How many homes can you run when down is up
See I may not get the times right but the memories are real
It's a fun walk even in the deep of my old news were you true
Thoughts come back on anyone at one chance or another anywhere
Wait the story gets harder to understand from the outside of life
To watch losses carried on whenever these want try to feel for me
Cause I had enough about what feelings are after my longings were gone
So to play my world over and over until the story is right I continue
I was waiting for a thought as part of my time to love
find how the lines fit in to yesterday, make real for what is today
That's the only reason I listen next touch on tonight
It's not a new love, not an old one
How many homes can you run when down is up

.....

It's Respect Day

It's respect day on the journey I continue to play
Taught by the best this earth had to hold around me
I walked beside the greatest of hearts won't ever desert me
As I keep my memories close I am remembered the same and by you
I just ask in every crowd I would never stand to hang true to you
Pull on a few memories laid my life to rest written for my ways
Should I walk into the story I started, lay back a moment of distress
Claim where the changes today came from, what home means to me
Should I leave you never to return again I need to decide or carry on
Then I finish with yesterday eight years behind ten years ahead
It's respect day on the journey I continue to play

Making Rain

Making rain this is all I know
Trying to find understanding's road
Making rain paying with my heart
Once protected by you

Making rain in my sleep
Win this world one time
Making rain I never said goodbye
How time plays with my eyes

Making rain is my life

I speak to no one though I try
Holding reason alive for a song
Just to carry feelings along
I'll follow you after the sun

Making rain is my life

Making rain it's my life

I speak to no one though I try
Holding reason alive for a song
Just to carry feelings along
I'll follow you after the sun

Making rain is my life

Making rain it's my life

Making rain is my life

Making rain it's my life

Only One Light

On a broken old chair
In a dirty old room
With only one light
Only one light
To see my way
Only one light
To shine on me
Only one light
I can't understand
I can't hear why
Only one light
On a broken old chair
In a dirty old room
With only one light
